The high throne is empty and three powers divide what it left behind. Take a province, and it is yours forever.
WORLDTAKER is a bullet-heaven roguelite about conquest. The high throne has fallen and nobody wears the crown. Three powers divided the continent between them: the Bramblekin, the Carrion Court and the Stone Husks. Each province is defended by a Champion or Warden. You arrive with a claim and nothing else.
The Bramblekin grow armies from conquered soil, while the Carrion Court makes rank from carrion. Beneath both, the Stone Husks remember orders older than the throne.
Each march drops you into one province of a hostile continent. Your weapons fire on their own. You move, position, and choose upgrades as you level. A standard province ends when you defeat its named Champion. A Warden rules each stronghold. Defeat the final enemy and the province is yours permanently. It generates passive gold every hour, including for up to eight hours while you are offline. If it borders your next target, its banner also strengthens that battle. The province stays on your map as part of the world you are taking.
Between marches you spend that income at the war table on permanent upgrades, raise structures on the ground you hold, and pick the next border to cross. A Dark Bargain grants an immediate benefit and adds one Curse for the current march. The Curse makes enemies more dangerous and increases your rewards.
Ten weapons, each with a second form for builds that commit. Ten distinct passives. The first campaign spans eighteen provinces, each with its own terrain, weather, defending family and final defender, with more regions planned.
